With the recent news that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be a five part movie series, 18 Disney animated classics including Aladdin, Mulan, and Peter Pan getting live action remakes, and spinoffs of old popular tv shows such as Full House and Gilmore Girls, one might wonder why the entertainment industry is not producing original stories. James Fowler's Stages of Faith Development emphasis on the importance of childhood bedtime stories may be able to explain the nostalgia phenomenon.
